1/9 - MUMBLE TEASE DESIGNS: FALL 2011
These are the first FOUR COLOUR Mumble Tease designs! It was definitely a learning process, but I'm really happy with how they all turned out! Oh the possibilities! All the shirts are silk-screened by hand by me using hand cut stencils and water-based, non-toxic inks. ABOVE: I feel like this sometimes when I'm having a really great creative day! The thoughts are flying and everything you come up with is brilliant! Of course, there are always days that are very much not like that. Maybe I will wear this shirt on those days and it will inspire me into brilliance!

This is my very first Mumble Tease creation using my new four-color printing press! Yippee! This poor guy has got two magnets that seem to like hanging out by his head. And they are SCRAMBLING HIS BRAIN!!

This shirt was inspired by something my cousin's three-year son said that I thought was absolutely hilarious. Out of the blue, he stated, "I like to drink rain." Then he paused, as if thinking, and continued emphatically, "from the sky!" So cute!

2/9 - BEEKEEPER: SHIRTS BY MUMBLE TEASE
This is a shirt that I designed and printed for Vancouver band "Beekeeper." I really like the weird image that their music inspired me to create! Lots of fun!

3/9 - SCENE & HEARD: FOUR COLOUR SILK-SCREENS
So exciting! This was my first run of four-colour shirts, printed on my new press! The shirts are for a club at the University of Calgary, called "Scene & Heard," that gives students discounted tickets to arts events around Calgary. I made the design, which is also being used as a logo for all their communications. A great way to test out the new equipment!

4/9 - MUMBLE TEASE DESIGNS: SPRING 2011
My five new shirt designs for my company Mumble Tease, in thier different color variations. All the shirts are silk-screened by hand by me using hand cut stencils and water-based, non-toxic inks. For more information or to buy one of these unique shirts, click on the Mumble Tease link to the left!

ABOVE: I think this is my new favourite! I've always like pirates, I think because my initials are "HAR" and also I think a bit because my Dad would have made an awesome pirate. Seriously, this one makes me giggle every time I think about it. MOSTLY USED AMONG PIRATES!!!! HILARIOUS!!!

This shirts features an awesome two-headed, no-ended creature. On the front of the shirt, there's a weird bear-like fellow, and on the back there's a goat! They share the same lightning-bolt patterned mid-section that's situated on the side of the shirt. Neat!

Here's another YAR/pirate-themed shirt! It's some sort of skull with a crazy geometric pattern trailing out behind it. Some people think it looks like a snake... I'm not too sure what it is myself... It's saying YARRR! though! Oh yes, and the pattern continues around the side of the shirt!

I really like patterns. And I really really liked this one. So much so, that I decided I would print it on a shirt!! The process I use to print my shirts is a bit different, as it involves cutting stencils out of a thin plastic sheet for each design which I just tape to my screens. I must say, this was one of the trickier designs I've cut out so far. It turned out really pretty though!

These are some experiements I did involving printing a very silly, rather odd creature on fabric, and then sewing that and a complementary patterned fabric onto a sweater. Ridiculous.

5/9 - SIDNEY YORK: SHIRTS BY MUMBLE TEASE
I had the opportunity to do a series of shirts for the band Sidney York to be sold at concerts during thier tour across Western Canada. It was an awesome project to be a part of. I was given a copy of the new album and then was supposed to come up with images just from listening to it. The complete create freedom was wonderful and I'm pretty happy with how they turned out. This was also my largest print run to date, with the total number of shirts printed being somewhere around 400!

6/9 - MUMBLE TEASE DESIGNS: FALL 2010
These are the two new designs I did. They feature the exciting addition of hoodies!!!

ABOVE: Mmmmm, cuddling. Cuddling is one of my favourite ways to waste away the time. Especially in the chilly winter months. I think this cuddly little muddled group of snakes would agree with me. I have to credit the words that inspired this design to a dear friend of mine who is an exceptionally good cuddler and creative wordsmith.

This is a very silly shirt. I'm not even sure what's going on there. The two little guys are hugging, and maybe their hug was so awesome and mind-blowing (hehehe) that their heads literally exploded! Egads!!!

7/9 - MUMBLE TEASE DESIGNS: SPRING 2010
Five shirt designs for my company Mumble Tease, in thier different color variations. All the shirts are silk-screened by hand by me using hand cut stencils and water-based, non-toxic inks. For more information or to buy one of these unique shirts, click on the Mumble Tease link to the left!

ABOVE: This is my best selling shirt! The little octopus (I guess he would technically be a septopus...) feels sad because he's not like all the other octopi. He should cheer up though because it's okay to be different. In fact, I don't care what the other octopi think, I think he's pretty cool.

This shirt celebrates words that have the letter combination "OODL" in them. I'm not sure if there are other words out there that I've missed, but I can't really think of any at the moment. Also, I am a bit of a canoodling doodling hoodlum, so it's an awesome shirt on at least two levels!

This is one electric shirt! The ghost is getting zapped by lovely little lightning bolts! Do you think he can feel it? This shirt is especially fun if, while wearing it, you make a disco-like gesture, throwing your left arm up and your right arm down, and exclaim loudly and enthusiastically "ZAP!!"

Who doesn't like one-eyed monsters? It doesn't need to be Halloween to enjoy this shirt! And I guess that's all I really have to say about this one.

In summer, I wish there were big floating foam hands everywhere, whose sole purpose was to go around squishing mosquitoes. They seem to find my blood rather tasty and I also happen to be very allergic to their bites... BIG FLOATING MOSQUITO SQUISHING FOAM HANDS, WHERE ARE YOU?

8/9 - APIARIES AND BEES FOR COMMUMNITIES: SHIRTS BY MUMBLE TEASE
A friend of mine started up her own business setting up beehives in people's backyards, and trusted me to design and print some shirts and bags to help promote her business. She's doing really well and I'm constantly amazed when I hear about all the new things she's getting involved in.

9/9 - MUMBLE TEASE DESIGNS: FALL 2009
These are the first five designs I to be silk-screened onto shirts. These ones started as experiments or gifts, and led to the development of Mumble Tease as a shirt company. All the shirts are silk-screened by hand by me using hand cut stencils and water-based, non-toxic inks. ABOVE: I'm not sure what the little eyes are looking at, but it must be somewhat frightening or surprising or something like that. The little speech thingies that exclaim "ACK!" wrap around the left side of the body just a little, and the glasses wrap around the right side just a little. NEAT!!

This is a shirt that I think everyone can relate to at some point or another. The top of your head opens up and your mind just flies away. Whether in dreams, forgetfullness, or outright vacancy, it happens to all of us.

Whenever I eat eggs, I can't help but think about the little yellow yolks being potential little chickens. They would be so cute! And then you take a big spoon and MASH! them into scrambled eggs. So sad. So this shirt is for all the eggs and their little chicken souls rising out of them protesting being eaten. (And yes, I know the eggs are not fertilized and would not actually turn into chickens, but I still can't help thinking about it.)

If you haven't seen Disney's Alice in Wonderland (the old, animated version) go and watch it now and perhaps then you will know where I got the inspiration for this shirt from, if you don't already that is... I love that movie... Has anyone ever played the game "button button who's got the button?" I'd be curious to know how it works...

This shirt is a lovely one to wear out to occasions where alcohol, and beer more specifically, will be present. The poor little ghosty just wants to drink one of the bottles of beer, but because he's a ghost, they just go right through him. The bottles go up over the shoulder and around making a circle of beer that the ghosty endlessly tries to drink. SO SAD!!!
